MX2 Inverter Series - Born to drive machines

05/01/2010

The MX2 is specifically designed to drive machines. The MX2 is a sensorless vector inverter with functionality to suit the majority of applications. Available in single phase 200 vac up to 2.2 KW, and three phase 400 vac up to 15 KW.

Integrated

The MX2 comes complete with Modbus RS485 built-in, enabling simple integration to other devices, such as Omron PLCs.

With no additional hardware, a 24 vdc connection to the MX2 ensures the CPU is always in control, even if the mains input is removed. This feature is vital in keeping network communications alive.

Safety built-in

Safety is built into the MX2 according to ISO13849-1, cat 3.

Dual safety inputs are provided, and are used in combination with a suitable safety controller, such as the Omron G9SA series. This means it is often possible to replace the dual contactors used in the output of inverter drives with this system.

This provides a simpler and more cost effective solution.

Advanced functionality

Specially developed simple positioning functionality is provided as standard. It enables the MX2 to solve positioning tasks without the need for an external controller.

Up to 8 positions, plus a home point, can be selected by the user.

Motor performance

Advanced design techniques mean that 200% starting torque is available, plus smooth motor control down to speeds as low as 0.5 Hz.

A simple auto-tuning routine is included, with minimal information required by the user, ensuring optimum performance is achieved.

Special motors

As well as superb control of induction motors, the MX2 can support non standard motors such as permanent magnet motors, increasingly seen in energy saving equipment.

Motors capable of speeds up to 1000 Hz operation are also supported.
