Accurax G5 Series - At the heart of every great machine

01/06/2010

The new Accurax G5 series servo offers users the ability to design and manufacture more accurate, faster, smaller and safer machines. Two models are available, with either a MECHATROLINK II network interface, or an analogue/ pulse interface. This drive and motor series is available up to 5 kW and has a wide range of motor types so that users can select the optimum solution based on the application requirements.

Networking built-in

More and more users are starting to use networked servo and inverter drives. The MECHATROLINK II network provides a fast and reliable connection between the controller and servo drive axis.

MECHATROLINK II is available on a range of Omron controller products including the NC range of position controllers, through to the Trajexia Motion controller range.

Superb motor performance

Thanks to a combination of advanced drive and motor design, the G5 series of products offer superb performance in any application.

For instance, the drive has a servo frequency response of 2 KHz, far in advance of many drives available in the market today.

In addition, autotuning routines are simple to use, and vibration suppression functions are included to ensure the motor movement is not only controlled, but smooth and settles in the shortest possible time.

Safety built-in

Safety is embedded in the G5 as standard, and conforms to ISO13849-1 (PL-d).

Via an external safety controller, connected to dedicated inputs on the servo drive, all power is removed from the motor in a very short period of time, in the event of a fault.

Furthermore, an output is also included and used as a failure monitoring function, again to tell the status of the drive to a safety relay controller.

Wide motor range

A servo system is only as good as the motor used. The G5 series has a wide range of advanced motors, with speed ratings of 1000, 2000 and 3000 rpm, plus non braked and braked versions.

Both incremental and absolute encoder types are available, with encoder resolutions of 20 bit and 17 bit respectively.

Simple PC programming

CX Drive fully supports the G5 servo series.

The user can not only configure and save solutions on the PC, but in addition can use CX Drive to test run, monitor and tune the G5 servo series.
